Unframed Tapestry

In this hand-stitched tapestry, Sarah Kuku, Threads of Blessing artist, creates a lovely fish-eye view of mountains at sunset. The work measures 7 x 8 inches and offers a unique take on a landscape scene with its circular format.  The winding path, which runs from the foreground and fades into the middle ground, provides perspective and depth to the piece.  The horizon, marked by the water's edge, is layered with imposing mountains and topped with blue sky and a brightly burning sun. 

Sarah lives in Ruwenzori in western Uganda. 

Sarah, a single mother, offers this powerful insight on her life and her participation as a Threads of Blessing artist.

“I lost my husband when I was still young. I had two children and no house. But the testimony I am giving here is that God pulled me through, and I have managed to raise my children with my needlework. I normally do beading and make tablecloths. I have put up a house for my children. God has blessed me through Threads of Blessing. I have done so many things. I thank God for that and pray that God continues to strengthen me. God Bless you!”
