Hand-stitched by Betty Acen, Threads of Blessing artist, this colorful tapestry measures 9" x 9" and shows fishermen arriving with their catch. In Northwest Uganda, notable fish species include the Nile perch, tilapia, catfish, tiger fish, and lungfish.
Betty lives in Parombo, a small village in Northwest Uganda on the Congo border with the Congo. She meets weekly with her fellow needleworkers. The community they have developed through Threads of Blessing encourages each of them and has significantly raised their self-confidence.
Betty offers this testimony. “Praise God. I know I am already blessed. I am a widow with six children. They are schooling, and I am paying their primary and secondary school fees, but I am a farmer. I also used the money to dig my garden and plant seeds. Thank you. May God bless you."
