Marion Kakwanzi created the stunning array of vegetables and fruits of the Ruwenzori mountainous region that decorates this tote bag. Notice the beautiful stitching and composition in this tapestry...and Marion is only 17 years old!
The 14" x 14" tote is made of black duck canvas and lined with beautiful African print. It has two exterior pockets – one with a Velcro closure and one with a zipper – and sturdy handles. The top of the tote closes with a turn-lock fastener.
Marion lives in southern Uganda, in the diocese of Ruwenzori close to the Rwandan border – a particularly beautiful area of Uganda. Her life revolves around helping to care for the family and their crops, and she meets weekly with her fellow needle workers.
