“Threads of Blessing has been able to change something in my life and the life of my family. Joining the group has been a blessing in my life. The coming together gives me some courage to still continue with the unity. God bless the works of your hand.”
Deborah lives in the Diocese of West Ankole and meets weekly with her fellow needleworkers. The community they have developed encourages each of them and has significantly raised their self-confidence. She belongs to one of 29 stitching groups located across several Ugandan dioceses. The groups comprise over 900 women artists.
The money the women earn from their stitching is truly life-changing. It helps them support their families and pay for education and medical needs. By purchasing seeds, fertilizer, and feed, they generate income through gardening and maintaining livestock such as pigs, chickens, and goats. Some are even able to start small businesses.
