Suzan lives in the Diocese of Kampala and offers this insight on her life and joining Threads of Blessing.
“After a big storm, becoming homeless, thrown out of the house, after the death of my parents, jobless, and nowhere to sleep with my son. I had to go to school and there were no school fees for me. I was introduced to Threads of Blessing. According to what I hear from people, it has brought me hope and joy that I will also one time be rejoicing.”
Suzan meets regularly with her fellow needleworkers, who support and learn from one another. She belongs to one of 29 groups located across several Ugandan dioceses. The groups include over 900 women artists who are part of the Threads of Blessing family.
The money the women earn from their stitching is life-changing. It enables them to help support their families, pay for education and medical needs, and buy seeds and fertilizer for their crops.
