Colorful birds nest in the canopy while wary kob stand watch below. This wonderful hand-stitched tapestry, created by Eva Katuramu, Threads of Blessing artist, offers the viewer a up-close view of animals in the forest. A bright orange border carefully frames this large work, which measures 18 x 16 inches.
Eva lives in Hoima in western Uganda and attends church at St. Peter’s Cathedral. She offers this insight into her life and participation in the Threads of Blessing ministry.
“The Lord is good. I am a member of Threads of Blessing. I have received money in small amounts for my pieces but I have been able to start a business to sell pan cakes and buy more threads. I believe that God will use me to make bigger and better pieces.
I also used the money to pay hospital bills for my husband who is diabetic, and look after the entire family. I have also started a pig project and now have 3 piglets. May God bless you for loving and supporting us always.”
