Mary Aluk created the sweet lovebirds on this 14.5" x 10" x 4.5" portable storage case. The body of this roomy case is black denim and quilted black cotton, and the trim is green print. The case has a carry handle and zipper, and the reinforced sides help it retain its shape.
Mary lives in Lira, a town in the far north of Uganda close to the Sudanese border. This region has experienced the horrors of war for the past 25 years through the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army). They have relative peace at present, but the trauma in the lives of the people and their children has been unspeakable. We started a Threads of Blessing group in Lira and neighboring Kitgum to help bring some hope to these women in the midst of their trauma and slow healing. Their enthusiasm is touching.
Mary will use the funds she receives from her needle work to provide education for her children; medical support for herself and her family; seeds or fertilizer for her crops; and repairs to her home.
