Sylvia Mugarura embroidered the sweet bunny sitting on a carrot that decorates this 12" x 11" x 3" stand-up pouch. The outer fabric is quilted black cotton, and the gold zipper and batik lining echo the tapestry background.
Sylvia lives in southern Uganda, in the diocese of Ruwenzori close to the Rwandan border – a particularly beautiful area. Her life revolves around caring for her family and her crops, and she meets weekly with her fellow needle workers. Sylvia will use the funds from her needlework to provide education for her children; medical support for herself and her family; supplies for her crops; and maintenance to her home.
