Betty Ocan stitched this vibrant tapestry of elephants walking through golden hills. The 16" x 16" zippered pillow cover is made of rich golden cordouroy with olive piping, echoing the colors of the embroidery.
Betty lives in Goli, Nebbi district in northwest Uganda close to the border with the Congo. She writes: “Praise the Lord! Thank God for the wonderful gift of hands. He has given me a chance to be a member of Threads of Blessing. When I received the money, it helped me a lot all because of God’s fervor. I have 6 children whom I am paying school fees. I also farm and all this has reduced shame from my husband that I don’t earn money. I also help a friend learn how to stitch pieces of cloth. Right now, Mama Phoebe promoted me to be a leader in Bero Parwoth Group Goli B. I am blessed. Thank you and may the Almighty God bless you in Jesus Name I pray.”
