Leatitia Namutebi, 13 years old, embroidered this lovely single red rose displayed on this 8" x 10" journal cover. The journal is made of dark denim with an African batik fabric lining. The notebook itself is a standard composition book that is easily replaced.
Leatitia lives in Mukono close to the capital city of Kampala. The women in the Threads of Blessing group in this area are dedicated to teaching children and young women embroidery. Leatitia's mentor is Barbara Nabbanja whose testimony is told elsewhere on this website.
Leatitia will use the funds she receives from her needlework to pay her school fees and help her family.
