Hand Embroidery

This interesting tapestry by Beatrice Ukethi depicts a shepherd as he tends cattle grazing near a river. Hills rise in the background. A nearby tree is beautifully rendered in French knots. The piece measures 8" x 10.5".

Beatrice lives in Goli, Nebbi Diocese, located in northwest Uganda, and she shares these thoughts:  “I want to thank God for what he has done for me in Threads of Blessing.  This project creates friendship among us.  I want to thank God for the knowledge that he has given me.  The money that I have earned from Threads of Blessing was used for paying school fees for my children.  I have 6 children. Thanks.”
