Hand Embroidery

Jenety Awinga created this bucolic scene of a shepherd boy with his cattle as they drink from a stream in a wooded area. The piece measures 7" x 8"--a versatile size for pillow, tote, or framing.

In Jenety's words, “I have 6 dependents and 7 children.  God has seen my future.  I hoped for help towards some of the dependents and my children.  Especially paying their fees at school which could have not been possible by our own efforts.”

She lives in the village of Parombo in northwest Uganda. It is located on the border with the Congo.
