“Glory to God. This is Jeres Uluga, your sister in Christ. I want to give thanks to God. Because of Threads of Blessing, I have done a lot to improve my house and helped my family.”
Jeres lives in the Diocese of Nebbi, and meets regularly with her fellow needleworkers who support and learn from one another. She belongs to the Threads of Blessing stitching group Agwok, which is one of 29 groups located across several dioceses in Uganda. The groups include over 900 women who make up the Threads of Blessing family. The money the women earn from their stitching is life-changing. It helps them support their families and pay for education and medical needs. By purchasing seeds, fertilizer, and feed, they generate income through gardening and maintaining livestock such as pigs, chickens, and goats. Some are even able to start small businesses.
