“I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus. I thank you very much for your support for me. I managed to buy a sewing machine and other things in my house. May God bless you so much.”
Costance lives in Hoima located in western Uganda. Hoima is the seat for the Bunyoro-Kitara Diocese. She belongs to one of 29 stitching groups that include over 900 women artists. The groups meet weekly to encourage and support one another, and each artist hand-stitches her pieces, creating one-of-a-kind artwork that reflects her culture, daily life, and the landscapes in which she lives.
