The tapestry on this 14" x 14" zippered tote bag was created by Sara Kuku. Made of tan canvas with black/gold African print lining, the tote has a large outside pocket with magnetic snap closure, an inside pocket, sturdy handles, and a separating zipper closure.
Sarah lives in southern Uganda, in the diocese of Ruwenzori close to the Rwandan border – a particularly beautiful area known as the “Switzerland” of Uganda. Her life revolves around caring for her family and her crops.
Sarah will use the funds she receives from her needlework to provide education for her children; medical support for herself and her family; seeds or fertilizer for her crops; and maintenance and repairs to her home. Sarah meets weekly with her fellow needle workers. The community they have developed through Threads of Blessing encourages each of them and has significantly raised their self-confidence.
