Rosetti Kiyemba embroidered the basket with vegetables and greens displayed on this 14" x 14" tote. The tote is made of tan canvas with an African print lining. It has a large pocket on the front, a zippered pocket on the back, and sturdy handles.
Rosetti lives in southern Uganda, in the diocese of Ruwenzori close to the Rwandan border – a particularly beautiful area known as the “Switzerland” of Uganda. Her life revolves around caring for her family and her crops.
Rosetti will use the funds she receives from her needlework to provide education for her children and adopted orphans; medical support for herself and her family; seeds or fertilizer for her crops; and maintenance and repairs to her home. She meets weekly with her fellow needle workers. The community they have developed through Threads of Blessing encourages each of them and has significantly raised their self-confidence.
