This wonderful hand-stitched tapestry, created by Phinoa Kasoga, Threads of Blessing artist, offers a birds-eye view of a Ugandan forest. Birds and monkeys are perched high in the canopy, while snow leopards, kob, giraffes, elephants, and rhinoceros are seen on the forest floor. Every inch of this large work, which measures 33 x 27 inches, offers something for the viewer.
Phinoa provide this insight on her life and participation as an artist with Threads of Blessing.
“I thank God for this group because I have been able to take care of my daughter, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. With the ability to pay medical bills using the money from the sale of my needlework, she has now learned how to walk. Thank you for helping the women. I am now a strong single mother.
My brother is now at university doing his dream course, Aeronautical Engineering. Before, we had no hope of him studying. Through this needlework that I do with my mother (Bagenda Cissy), my brother is very happy at university, and he loves this group and all the mothers, especially our loving friends in America.”
